Leeward Fate
Leeward Fate
By way of California, Oregon & Maryland, the guys met in 2008 on the island of St. Kitt’s at Ziggy’s Beach Bar & Grill’s Open Mic Night. It was apparent after the first night of jamming together that introductions like these don’t come around too often. Before long the guys were performing mostly original material & their signature versions of covers like “Land Down Under” (Men at Work) & “Dynamite” (Taio Cruz) under the band name Leeward Fate. The name stemmed from the members meeting completely by fate in the Leeward Islands.

Best described as “a rock band that’s just crawled out of the Caribbean Ocean,’ Leeward Fate takes pride in their songwriting & passion for creating great music. The band’s unique sound is a blend of rock, pop, easy listening & progressive, perhaps comparable to Switchfoot, Jack Johnson & Dave Matthews Band.

For the past three years, Leeward Fate has been on tour supporting their 2009 self titled debut album and their 2010 EP 'Driftwood Vol. 1.‘ The band’s drummer, Tom Miller says “touring keeps us grounded. It’s a perfect blend of personal & musical growth. Along our travels we learn about ourselves & other people.” With much success, Leeward Fate has toured the West and East Coast, as well as the South. Most recently, the band received an invitation to play at the 2011 Rock-N-Roll Marathon in Savannah, Georgia. Leeward Fate performed live on stage as part of the marathon’s Miles of Music Entertainment showcase.

In October 2011, Leeward Fate took a break from touring & teamed up with renown music producer Todd Stotler (at Echoes Recording Studio) to record their highly anticipated second album ‘Calling You.’ To help fund recording costs, Leeward Fate raised $3,800 in pledges through their Kickstarter Project - an online fan-funded platform for creative projects. Thanks to 111% fan supported pledges, the band was able to make their sophomore album a rock-n-roll reality.

On March 20th 2012, the release date for 'Calling You', marks a transitional departure from Leeward Fate’s Caribbean roots. Lead singer Daniel Nickels describes the album as “a transcending emotional ride, taking you through a space of what life is or should be. Through its good times and hard times, reflecting on the space in the middle, eventually finding resolution within each of us....each song on the album has its own personality evoking a different thought, feeling or memory.”

To support the release of “Calling You,” Leeward Fate will return to the West Coast for a two week tour beginning on March 23, 2012. facebook.com/leewardfate - www.leewardfate.com

Nick Driver is a singer-songwriter from Zebulon, North Carolina. Driver relocated to Raleigh, N.C during college at NC State University and played in numerous post hardcore bands being featured on Vans Warped Tour in 2007 and 2009, respectively. After a decade of playing and touring behind heavier styles of music, Driver picked up his acoustic and toured extensively behind his debut record Warm Is Your Color which featured a top ten hit song titled Let's Stay Together on Sirius XM's the Coffeehouse, one of Driver's compositions.

"This album is positive from start to finish. The music is upbeat and cheerful while also thought-provoking. There is so much to it that you don't hear in today's mainstream. The substance most pop artists today seem to lack can be found here. It is hard to find the kind of raw talent that Driver possesses. He keeps it simple. No effects, just a clean sounding voice. It is refreshing and rare."-Sue Hardee, Raleigh Music

"A better comparison might be Eric Hutchinson, Matt Nathanson or any of the other solid songwriter –sons, though Driver's songwriting displays a more refined sensibility than either."
— Ryan Synder, Yes! Weekly Magazine

"Highlight tracks include, "Logged In", "Young & Beautiful", "Without Love Poster", "Worshipped by the Energy", "Gardens", and "Sidelines." As you can see my list of favorites is over half of the album's tracks, need I say anything more? Purchase- 'Warm Is Your Color!'"
— C W Ross, CWROSS

"Driver's voice reminds me of Maroon 5's lead singer Adam Levine, and is guaranteed to make you melt.— Sue Hardee, Raleighmusic.com
"Warm Is Your Color effectively puts the emphasis on his strengths as a lively vocalist with a knack for simple, yet engaging guitar melodies. "
— Ryan Synder, Yes! Weekly

"I love promoting good people who make great music and every once in a while I come across a CD that is so good that I have to share it with folks. Such is the case with Nick Driver's CD entitled "A Kinda Love This World Could Never Burn". Nick's CD is full of positive lyrics and good beats, this one is worth taking a listen - great vocals and harmonies. It will brighten any day. You'll be singing to this one in your car." -Diogenes, 919 Music Pick
"Since going solo with his original acoustic music, this young artist has attracted quite a bit of attention, including being selected as a finalist for the 2011 John Lennon International Songwriting Contest for his song Spare Me Some Change" -A Neck Of The Woods

"Now lauded for his Americana, singer/songwriter feel, Driver's recorded two records (2010's Warm is Your Color and 2011's A Kind of Love This World Could Never Burn) and toured the country sharing his music. This NC native is steady mastering the hustle." -Carrboro Citizen
